Srinagar, Sep 23: J&K Police organised a Drug Awareness Programme at New Child Care High School, Boniyar on Wednesday sensitising students about the serious physical, psychological and social consequences of drug abuse.
The session highlighted how substance abuse can adversely affect health, concentration, academic performance, personal development and future prospects, while also addressing the risks associated with peer pressure and addiction.
Students were encouraged to adopt healthy and constructive alternatives, including sports, regular exercise, meditation and other positive activities. The importance of maintaining a drug-free, safe and skill-focused school environment was also emphasised in promoting SDG-4 – Quality Education, enabling children to learn effectively, develop their potential and lead productive lives.
The students were urged to make responsible choices and spread the message “Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs”, becoming ambassadors of a healthy, productive and drug-free society. Police reiterated its commitment to strengthening drug-awareness initiatives among young people and fostering greater community participation in the fight against drug abuse.
