Madhubani: Soon after Bihar Police launched the Police Didi initiative across the state, women police personnel conducted a march riding two-wheelers across Madhubani town on Friday to spread awareness about women’s safety and reassure girls and women of police support.Led by town SHO Manoj Kumar, the Police Didi teams rode through key streets of the town, carrying a message of safety, security and confidence-building. The march began from the Police Lines campus and covered several prominent routes.The initiative is part of the state’s renewed push to strengthen women’s safety through visible policing and community outreach. Under the new arrangement, members of the erstwhile Abhaya Brigade have been redesignated as Police Didis and are tasked with patrolling schools, colleges, hostels, markets and other public places.Speaking on the occasion, ASP Rashmi said the initiative aims to assure women and girls that the police stand with them and are always available to help in times of need. She expressed confidence that regular interaction and patrols by Police Didi teams would strengthen the sense of security among women.During the march, police personnel also appealed to residents to remain vigilant and report any incident involving harassment, stalking or threats to women’s safety. They urged women and girls to approach the police without hesitation in case of any emergency.The flag march was part of a statewide drive launched by Bihar Police to increase its visibility in public spaces and build trust between women and law enforcement agencies.
