Jaipur: Jaipur police commissioner Sachin Mittal Saturday held a public hearing programme at ACP Jhotwara office, listening to complaints from nearly 100 citizens and directing officers to ensure prompt and lawful disposal of grievances.The public hearing, organised under the Jaipur Commissionerate, was attended by special police commissioner Rahul Prakash, additional police commissioner (Crime) Manish Agrawal, deputy commissioner of police (West) Hanuman Prasad, additional DCP (West) Rajesh Kumar Gupta and assistant police commissioner (Jhotwara) Alok Kumar.Station house officers from Jhotwara, Kardhani, Murlipura, Kalwar and Khorabisal police stations were also present in the programme. Officials said around 50 members of the Community Liaison Group (CLG) attended the hearing, along with nearly 100 complainants from various police station areas. The police commissioner personally heard their grievances and issued necessary directions to the ACP (Jhotwara) and concerned SHOs for timely and lawful action. During the event, Mittal also unveiled a “Beat Information Board” initiative. Under the programme, approximately 1,000 beat information boards will be installed across beats in the city. The boards will display details of the respective beat officers to help residents contact them directly when required.Police officials said the initiative aims to strengthen police-public coordination, improve accessibility and enhance accountability at the grassroots level.The police said that such public hearing programmes would be organised on regular basis to ensure swift redressal of complaints from the public and reinforce community policing efforts across Jaipur.
