GURGAON: Continuing its zero-tolerance drive against habitual offenders and criminal networks, Police on Monday demolished illegal structures at five locations linked to alleged criminals, including an illegally constructed house and borewell near the Dhankot canal.Police identified the beneficiaries of the encroachment as Narender alias Pavva and Sunny alias Dogra, both residents of Dhanwapur village. According to police, the two have a combined total of 25 criminal cases registered against them.Narender alias Pavva is facing 12 criminal cases involving offences such as attempt to murder, assault, dacoity, violations of the Arms Act and other serious crimes. Sunny alias Dogra has 13 criminal cases registered against him, including attempt to murder, assault, dacoity, Arms Act violations and other serious offences.Police said the accused had illegally constructed a residential structure and a borewell on land near the Dhankot canal. After completing the required administrative procedures, the encroachment was removed with the assistance of the district administration and the land was restored to its original condition.The demolition drive was carried out by the Crime Branch, Palam Vihar, in coordination with the district administration.Police said the operation was conducted under strict supervision and law and order remained peaceful throughout.Officials said the action forms part of Gurgaon Police’s ongoing campaign against land mafias, drug traffickers and habitual offenders. “Intelligence-based action against illegal encroachments and properties linked to criminal activities will continue to safeguard public land and strengthen law and order in the city”, Sandeep Turan, police spokesperson said.
