Noida: Twenty housing societies across Noida and Greater Noida have been selected for the first phase of a pilot project to shift domestic LPG consumers to PNG. The district administration has asked residents and society managements to facilitate the transition.On Wednesday, district supply officer Nilesh Utpal held a coordination meeting ahead of the transition. “Representatives of Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL), the city gas distribution company, oil marketing companies IOCL, BPCL and HPCL, and LPG distributors attended the meeting,” Utpal told TOI.The selected societies already have PNG networks and received notices more than three months ago. The transition will be carried out as per the prescribed procedure and after completion of the stipulated notice period, Utpal said.Societies selected for the pilot include Divyansh Flora GC-II, White Orchid, Saya Zion, Avenue GC 6 in Gaur City, ATS Nobility, Amaatra Homes, ATS Happy Trails, Regency Park and Vihaan Greens in Greater Noida West.In Greater Noida, Proview Technocity in Chi 5, Oasis Venetia Heights in Surajpur Site C, Migsun Twinz in ETA 2, Omaxe Palm Green in Sector Mu have been picked. Noida’s Parx Laureate in Sector 108, Amrapali Eden Park in Sector 50, Amrapali Platinum in Sector 119, Divine Meadows in Sector 108, Golf City in Sector 75, Gardenia Glory in Sector 46 and Amrapali Silicon City in Sector 76 will also be transitioning.To ease the transition, awareness and facilitation camps will be organised inside the selected societies. Residents will be informed about PNG registration, documentation and other formalities through notices, SMS, WhatsApp and other communication channels, Utpal added.According to officials, eligible consumers would be required to complete the prescribed registration process. Once the notice period and other statutory requirements are completed, action regarding existing domestic LPG connections will be taken as per govt directions, including their temporary suspension.The district administration has also asked RWAs, AOAs and society management committees to coordinate with IGL, oil marketing companies and LPG distributors so that registration and other formalities can be completed smoothly.The initiative is intended to facilitate the shift to PNG in areas where the network is already available and reduce dependence on domestic LPG, officials said.
