Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat and Daman on Friday and inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various development projects worth around 22,000 crore.

The prime minister will also address a gathering in Surat.

The projects which will be inaugurated include a 200-bed ESIC Hospital in Surat and a new terminal building of NAMO Airport in Daman.

“I will be in Surat, Gujarat and Daman tomorrow, 5th June, to attend various programmes aimed at improving ‘Ease of Living’ for the people. In these two programmes, development works worth over 20,000 crore will be inaugurated or their foundation stones will be laid,” Modi said in a post on ‘X’.

The prime minister said in Daman, the key inaugurations include a new terminal building of the airport, which will improve connectivity.

“The Namo hospital will cater to people’s healthcare needs. The foundation stones for projects like the Daman Convention Centre and the NIFT Campus will be laid,” he said.

According to an official statement, the prime minister will visit Hazira in Surat district on June 5 and review ongoing industrial operations and infrastructure projects.

Later, he will launch various development projects worth around 18,800 crore in Surat and address a gathering on the occasion.

The prime minister will also inaugurate Packages VI and VII of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway, which aims to enhance high-speed transportation, logistics efficiency and economic connectivity between Gujarat and Maharashtra.

Modi will then inaugurate the 200-bed ESIC Hospital in Surat.

He will then travel to Daman, where he will inaugurate a new terminal building of the NAMO Airport and a healthcare facility — the Namo Hospital.

The PM will also lay the foundation stone of projects with the aim to strengthen modern infrastructure, boost tourism, promote investment, generate employment opportunities and improve the quality of life of the people, the statement said.

In total, he will launch projects worth around 2,970 crore in Daman.

The prime minister will also virtually lay the foundation stone of four important projects for the Union Territory of Lakshadweep worth around 885 crore.

These projects include development of port facilities on the eastern and western sides of both Kalpeni Island and Kadmat Island.

Modi said foundation stones for development works in Lakshadweep will also be laid.

“These works include development of Port Facilities on the Eastern and Western Sides of both Kalpeni Island and Kadmat Island. By improving maritime infrastructure, these initiatives will benefit coastal communities, generate economic activity, promote tourism and strengthen the growth trajectory of Lakshadweep,” he said.
