Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing held comprehensive discussions in New Delhi on Monday, with security cooperation, border management and regional stability featuring prominently on the agenda. Responding to ANI’s question on whether any discussions on enhancing economic cooperation in critical minerals and rare earths were held between Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing and PM Modi, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri says, “Yes, issues related to critical minerals and rare earths did come up during the discussions today. This is something that has been a subject of bilateral discussions for some time. Today as well, there was an understanding that the two governments and the entities from the two countries would continue to keep in touch on these issues and take forward cooperation in these areas.”
