Nagpur: A powerful theatrical retelling of Abhimanyu’s legendary valour brought the curtains down on the two-day ‘Kala Mahotsav’ organised by the South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) on Saturday. The grand Hindi play ‘Chakravyuh’, featuring veteran actor Nitish Bharadwaj in the role of Lord Krishna, captivated audiences and marked the festival’s concluding performance.Written and directed by theatre personality Atul Satya Koushik, ‘Chakravyuh’ offers a philosophical exploration of the events surrounding the death of Abhimanyu on the 13th day of the Mahabharata war. The play draws parallels between the battlefield of Kurukshetra and the dilemmas faced in modern life, weaving themes of karma (action) and dharma (righteous duty) through its narrative.According to organisers, ‘Chakravyuh’ was staged more than 160 times across the country and continues to draw audiences for its blend of mythology and contemporary reflection.
