Mohali: To mark World Hepatitis Day, Punjab Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (PILBS), Mohali — the state’s premier super-specialty institute dedicated to liver care — is organising a comprehensive liver health camp on July 28 (Tuesday). The camp will start at 9am in the institute OPD.In line with this year’s global theme, “Let’s break it down,” the camp aims to make advanced liver diagnostic care accessible and affordable to the general public.PILBS director Dr Virendra Singh said that under this special initiative, major liver diagnostic tests — including FibroScan, Ultrasound, Liver Function Test (LFT), Renal Function Test (RFT), urine routine microscopy, Hepatitis B and C screening, alongside specialist Hepatology consultation — will be offered as a bundle for just Rs 1,000.Dr Virendra Singh urged people from across the state to attend the camp.“This camp is not only for diagnosed liver patients but for everyone who wants to be assured that their liver is healthy,” said the director.He emphasised that early detection and screening play a vital role in preventing severe liver complications, noting that regular check-ups are essential even for asymptomatic individuals to maintain long-term well-being.
