Ranchi: A PIL was filed in Jharkhand high court on Friday seeking a probe into the accounts of the Jagannath temple trust committee in Jagannathpur. The petition, filed by Dhurwa resident Ajay Kumar, alleges that committee members have failed to maintain the trust’s accounts properly. Kumar claimed gross tax violations require a special audit of the trust’s finances. He also urged the court to appoint an independent govt officer to take control of the books of accounts and income and expenditure records of the temple, saying such oversight is necessary to ensure transparent and proper accounting.
