Origin Story
Growing up between Nigeria, Australia, Italy and America, Daniella Omijeh saw firsthand how differently the world treats oral health. Some cultures prioritize it. Others dismiss it entirely. That contrast never left her.
When she started experiencing her own dental issues at Penn State, she went looking for a toothpaste that matched the intention she brought to the rest of her beauty routine. What she found instead was a lawsuit, the brand she’d been trusting had been hiding what was actually in it. She started reading ingredient labels. Then she couldn’t stop.
The conclusion was obvious: oral care hadn’t kept up. The formulas, the design, the whole category, it was decades behind where it should be. So she built Perlae because products should move forward in both design and ingredients.
