Peddi box office collection day 1: Ram Charan’s sports drama, Peddi, has hit the screens today (June 4), and is already on a rampage at the ticket window. The film, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, was one of the most heavily anticipated Telugu films of recent times, which was evident by its advance booking trends. On day 1, buoyed by Ram Charan’s star power, the film broke quite a few records at the box office.

Peddi box office collection (till 4 PM)
Peddi collected ₹20 crore gross in advance bookings for its first day, selling over 82 lakh tickets. The film released in theatres on Thursday across 3000 screens. The bulk of this has been in its original Telugu language, but the Hindi-language dub has also received a wide release. According to Sacnilk, by 4 PM on its opening day, Peddi has collected ₹20 crore net in India. This includes ₹18.91 crore net from the Telugu version alone. The Telugu version has recorded occupancy of over 60% in both morning and afternoon shows, a solid start for the film.
The Hindi dub, however, has disappointed with a mere 14% occupancy. This version has collected just ₹1.37 crore by 4 PM. This is a rather small figure given the film’s pan-India aspirations. Ram Charan is a known name and face in the Hindi belt, and the presence of Janhvi Kapoor, Divyenndu, and Boman Irani has also added weight to the film’s prospects in the north. However, the numbers are disappointing to start with.
Nevertheless, Peddi is poised for a grand start at the box office. It is set to record the third-best start for an Indian film in 2026, behind Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 ( ₹102 crore) and Prabhas’ The RajaSaab ( ₹ 62 crore).
Peddi to beat Dhurandhar and Gadar 2
The way Peddi is going at the ticket window on its opening day, it is set to beat the domestic opening collections of megahits like Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar ( ₹30 crore) and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 ( ₹40 crore). Whether it can beat Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan ( ₹57 crore) or not, remains to be seen. It is likely to set a record for the biggest opening for a solo Ram Charan film. Currently, that record belongs to the actor’s last film, Game Changer. The Shankar film earned ₹50 crore net on its opening day, but fell flat thereafter due to negative word of mouth. The positive reviews Peddi has received have all but ensured that it won’t meet the same fate.
