Srinagar, Aug 08 : Jammu and Kashmir Health and Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Saturday termed the FIR against PDP leader Iltija Mufti a “fixed match”, alleging that the opposition party was trying to divert attention from the statement made by its president Mehbooba Mufti at Jantar Mantar.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in south Kashmir, minister Sakina Itoo as per news agency Kashmir News Service said the PDP was playing a “fixed” match to shift focus from the former chief minister’s remarks during the party’s protest against the abrogation of Article 370 two days ago.
“There is a scripted narrative being created. The real issue is the statement Mehbooba Mufti made at Jantar Mantar. The FIR is only a diversionary tactic,” minister Itoo said.
The former chief minister and her daughter were booked for allegedly assaulting a police officer during the PDP’s protest in the national capital on August 6. The demonstration was held to mark the seventh anniversary of the revocation of the special status of the erstwhile state. (KNS)
