Jaipur: Beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya (MAA) Yojana, who are not in the categories of free MAA health cover, must pay the Rs 850 annual premium by July 31 to continue receiving health and accident insurance benefits from Aug 1, the health department said.Officials said beneficiaries who fail to pay the Rs 850 annual premium by the deadline will lose access to the scheme for three months. Families renewing after July 31 will become eligible for benefits only from Nov 1, after the waiting period.Under the MAA scheme, registered families receive health insurance cover of up to Rs 25 lakh and accident insurance cover of up to Rs 10 lakh. Beneficiaries can avail free treatment at empanelled govt and private hospitals in the district.A senior health department official urged eligible families yet to enrol or renew their coverage to complete the process through e-Mitra before the deadline. Registration can be done using a Jan Aadhaar card, Aadhaar card and Jan Aadhaar registration receipt, or through their SSO ID.The official said families not covered under the scheme often face significant financial hardship during illness or accidents as they are unable to avail free treatment.The state bears the premium for eligible categories, including National Food Security Act beneficiaries, Socio-Economic Census 2011 families, small and marginal farmers, Covid-19 ex gratia beneficiaries, contractual workers, and destitute or helpless families. Their enrolment is processed automatically, although contractual workers are required to renew their policy every year at no cost.Other eligible families can avail the scheme’s benefits for one year by paying the annual premium of Rs 850.
