Nagpur: The autopsy of Narayandas Vaishnaw, 35, who died after being beaten by a mob in Pardi over alleged sexual assault on a minor girl, has indicated internal injuries and haemorrhage as the cause of death, police sources said. Pardi police have rounded up three persons for questioning.Also, police have converted the accidental death case into a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The autopsy conducted on Wednesday indicated internal injuries and haemorrhage, said police who are now probing the assault as the possible cause of death.More people are being questioned. Police are scanning CCTV footage and checking videos recorded on mobile phones to identify others involved.Meanwhile, Pardi police have registered a POCSO case and other relevant offences against Vaishnaw over the alleged assault on the girl. The probe into both the sexual offence and the mob assault is continuing.Vaishnaw, a native of Bhilai in Chhattisgarh, had shifted to Nagpur around a month ago in search of work. He was working as a labourer and stayed at a rented house in Shiv Nagar, Pardi.On Monday night, Vaishnaw allegedly brought a nine-year-old girl, who was playing near her home, claiming her mother wanted her to stay at his house for some time.Once the girl entered his rented room, Vaishnaw allegedly switched off the lights and sexually assaulted her. The girl raised an alarm and managed to escape. She alerted her family and neighbours, said police.A crowd allegedly dragged Vaishnaw out of his home and repeatedly punched and kicked him. Police were alerted around 10.30pm and reached the spot.Police found Vaishnaw injured but conscious. He did not appear to have suffered life-threatening injuries at the time. Still, police took him to Mayo Hospital, where he was admitted and his statement was recorded. Doctors declared him dead at around 2.50pm on Tuesday.
