Dhanbad: Fifty paramedical students at Shaheed Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital (SNMMCH) on Tuesday met deputy medical superintendent of Dhanbad Sadar Hospital and sought their stipends, which have been pending for six months.Students of the 2023-25 batch said their services at SNMMCH began in March this year under the state govt’s bond-based service arrangement. Despite completing nearly six months of service, none of them has received the monthly stipend promised under the scheme.Students approached Dr Sanjeev Kumar and apprised him of their predicament. They urged the health department to clear the pending payments at the earliest.Ram Kumar Verma, a student, said they had been deployed as technicians in different departments of SNMMCH under the bond-based service conditions.“We are supposed to receive a monthly stipend of Rs 12,000, but not a single payment has been made since we joined in March,” he said.The students said the prolonged delay had caused financial difficulties and appealed to the authorities to intervene and ensure regular payment of their stipulated stipend.
