Hyderabad: The Telangana govt has constituted a high-level committee to inquire into alleged irregularities and other issues concerning lands in certain villages across various districts. The committee has been constituted mainly to probe into the lands alleged owned by former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, former ministers T Harish Rao, KT Rama Rao, Gangula Kamalakar Rao, G Jagadishwar Reddy, MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and Joginapally Santosh Kumar, ex-MLC Elvin Stepheson, ex-MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy, M Hanumantha Rao and others in Ranga Reddy, Siddipet, Sircilla and other areas of the state either by them or their family members and associates.The committee will be headed by commissioner of collegiate and technical education A Sridevasena, and members are special secretary and IG Registration and Stamps (R&S) department Rajiv Gandhi Hanmanthu and Janagaon collector Sandeep Kumar Jha and district collector of the concerned district.Telangana chief secretary Sanjay Jaju, who issued a GO No 134 said the committee was set up following a short discussion in the state assembly recently on the issues relating to section 22-A and the govt directed the committee to examine violations of statutes, Acts, Rules, government orders and official instructions relating to the lands identified in the order.“The committee will examine issues concerning government lands, ceiling surplus lands, assigned lands, Jagir lands, Bhoodan lands, Inam lands and forest lands. It will also look into land acquisition, rehabilitation and resettlement, water bodies and their catchment areas, and land records,” the GO said.The govt said the panel will identify violations, fix responsibility and recommend appropriate action wherever warranted. It will also examine any other matters connected with the issues under inquiry or referred to it by the govt. The committee has been empowered to requisition records, documents, data, information, personnel and other resources from govt departments, district administrations, local bodies, corporations and other govt-controlled authorities.The govt has directed all concerned departments and authorities to extend full cooperation and provide the required records and information promptly. The committee has been asked to submit its report to the government expeditiously. Hanumantha Rao in Velikatta village in Kondapak mandal in Siddipet.The committee may also submit interim reports on specific issues, as it deems fit allegations of irregular purchase of assigned lands and irregular allotment of govt lands in Sardapur, Laxmipur and Thangallapally villages in Rajanna-Sircilla district and others allegations including 16 allegations of irregular receipt of compensation and R&R packages concerning Mid Manair Reservoir by Joginapally Ravinder Rao and J. Sowmya Rajanna Sircilla Boinpalli and other mandals concerned villages covered under land acquisition for Raja Rajeshwara (Mid Manair) reservoir, including Manwada.ends/
