Panchkula: Two unauthorised colonies in Barwala and Plasra villages of the district were demolished Tuesday during an enforcement drive against illegal development carried out by the district town planning (DTP) department.Acting on the directions of deputy commissioner Satpal Sharma, the DTP team used JCB machines to remove an unpaved road network, a damp-proof course (DPC) structure and boundary demarcations of three plots, officials said.District town planner Babita Gupta said no construction or colony development can be undertaken without prior approval from the director, town and country planning department, Haryana. She warned that strict action would be taken against those involved in illegal colonisation or unauthorised construction activities.Gupta also appealed to residents to verify approvals before investing in plots and advised against carrying out construction or developing colonies without obtaining the requisite Change of Land Use (CLU) permission or licence from the department.
