Prayagraj: Mahant Baba Hathiram Pajawa Ramlila Committee will hold its crown worship ceremony (Mukut pujan) on Oct 6 at Shahganj Ram Mandir, marking the commencement of the Dussehra festivities.The idols of Lord Ram, Lakshman, and Goddess Janaki will wear the crowns made of gold and silver, and the cleaning and polishing of these crowns is being done by the committee’s treasurer, Amitabh Tandon.The committee’s finance secretary Sachin Kumar Gupta told TOI that preparations are in full swing for the ‘Mukut Pujan’ scheduled on Oct 6. “This time, the ceremony will involve the worship of all ten crowns owned by the committee, which are crafted from gold and silver,” he said.The Dussehra festival, organised under the aegis of the Mahant Baba Hathiram Pajava Ramlila Committee, commences with the crown worship ceremony at Hathiram Mandir in Shahganj. Senior committee member Mohan Ji Tandon said that the traditional worship of the crowns for Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, Lakshman, Bharat, and Shatrughna is conducted with full Vedic rituals and chanting of mantras by 11 Brahmins and Vedic scholars. Following this, the deities don their crowns starting from the first day of Navratri, marking the ceremonial beginning of the Dussehra events.
