Pune: The next round of the first year junior college (Class XI) centralised online admission process commenced on Thursday, providing a vital opportunity for thousands of students across Maharashtra who are yet to secure a seat.Under this new round, students can submit fresh registrations, correct errors in existing application forms, and revise their college preferences. The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education released the revised schedule following the completion of three regular and two special rounds.To date, 14,87,757 students have registered for FYJC admissions statewide, with 11,63,020 having confirmed their seats. This latest round is expected to bridge the gap for the remaining 3.2 lakh students still seeking seats.According to the schedule released by the education department, the window for fresh registrations, application corrections, and changes in Part II college preferences opened at 3pm on Thursday, July 16. These changes can be made till 6pm on July 18. Seat allotment will be carried out on July 19, while the allotment list and college-wise cut-offs will be announced at 10am on July 20.Students allotted seats in this round must complete their admission formalities at their respective junior colleges by July 22. Following this, a fresh vacancy list will be published on July 24, providing a clear picture of the remaining spots for subsequent rounds.The recently concluded second special round, held exclusively for female students, saw significant engagement. A total of 71,706 girls finalised their college preferences in part II of the application. Of these, 53,824 were allotted seats, and 47,330 had confirmed their admissions by July 14.Education officials emphasised that this ongoing round is crucial for students who missed earlier deadlines, made clerical errors in their applications, or wish to upgrade their preferences. The revised schedule aims to fill a significant portion of the vacant seats before the admission process enters its final stages.
