Nagpur: The Nagpur Crime Branch arrested three peddlers dealing in MD powder after seizing over 165gms of the synthetic drug and other material worth over Rs47 lakh in raids at two different places after Thursday midnight.Acting on a tip-off, officers and staff of Crime Branch spotted two suspicious individuals in Vaishnavi Devi Nagar in Bhandewadi area between 3.30am and 6.30am . The duo, Mohammad Niaz Samsul Ansari (34) and his brother Mohammad Aslam Samsul Ansari (34), both residents of Wathoda, were found with a car and a moped.A search led to the recovery of 151 grams of MD powder, valued at Rs30.20 lakh, concealed in ziplock foils from the vehicles .Police also recovered cash Rs3,600, a mobile phone, an electronic weighing scale, and vehicles, taking the total value of seized items to Rs 43.74 lakh.As per police, the duo confessed the contraband was procured for sale with the help of an accomplice Vishal alias Falli Gupta of Wathoda. Niaz has a prior narcotics-related case while Aslam faces serious charges including murder. The duo and seized material have been handed over to Bhandewadi police. Police have launched a manhunt for their accomplice.In a parallel action, the Crime Branch Anti-Narcotics Squad, during patrolling shortly after Thursday midnight near tea kiosk on Kamptee Road in Jaripatka, noticed a man aged 25-30 waiting near a moped without a number plate.The youth tried to flee but was chased and apprehended. Identified as Aman Motghare (26), resident of New Indora, he was found in possession of 18 grams of MD powder hidden in his pant’s pocket and moped dickey.Valuables recovered from him included a smartphone and the moped, totaling around Rs3.50 lakh. Motghare confessed to buying the drugs from his accomplice Pratik Dhavle (25) of Mayanagar in Indora for sale. He has been handed over to Jaripatka police along with the narcotics. Hunt for the supplier continues.Senior officers praised the teams for their alertness and strict adherence to legal procedures.
