Pune: As many as 15 two-wheeler riders skidded and fell on Raja Bahadur Mill Road on Tuesday morning due to soil and oil on the road surface.Riders sustained injuries to their knees, hands and shoulders, city fire brigade officials said. Most of the injured riders were on their way to work at companies in Yerawada and Kharadi when the accidents occurred. The city fire brigade later deployed a fire tender to clean the road surface.According to a fire brigade official, “Several construction activities are underway in the area. Soil spilled from trucks transporting construction material onto the road, while oil is suspected to have leaked from another truck. Early morning rain made the road even more slippery, causing the riders to skid and fall.”
