Ahmedabad: A delegation of state Congress leaders will visit Bhavnagar on Friday to conduct an on-site inquiry into the hooch tragedy, state Congress president Amit Chavda said on Thursday. Speaking to reporters at the GPCC headquarters, Chavda alleged the prohibition law in Gujarat existed only on paper and demanded the resignation of home minister Harsh Sanghavi. “Sanghavi is not just the sports minister. He is also the home minister. He should resign for failing to implement prohibition law. A SIT headed by a sitting HC judge must investigate the hooch tragedy,” Chavda demanded.Meanwhile, Arvind Kejriwal posted on X that although there was a complete ban on alcohol in Gujarat, people were dying from spurious liquor. “Think about it. The BJP has been running the government here (in Gujarat) for the past 30 years. Nothing could be more shameful than this. They have turned Gujarat into a hub for the illegal liquor trade,” he posted on his X handle on Thursday.
