Namakkal: State BJP president Nainar Nagenthran on Friday said AIADMK-led NDA govt should be voted to form govt in Tamil Nadu to facilitate Union govt’s welfare schemes to reach across the state.Campaigning for NDA candidate Dr S D Premkumar at Vennandur near Rasipuram, he urged voters to support NDA and vote for lotus symbol. “Edappadi K Palaniswami should be made chief minister. Only then central schemes will reach Tamil Nadu effectively.” Nainar said the law and order had deteriorated, drug and ganja sales had increased, and crimes, including sexual offences, had gone up in Tamil Nadu in the past five years of DMK governance. He claimed the state had reported 8,900 murders and 3,900 sexual assaults against women during the period. He slammed DMK for not providing basic facilities in Rasipuram despite having a minister from the constituency, and accused the govt of focusing only on self-interests. Nainar praised the previous AIADMK govt for bringing 11 medical colleges and said DMK had not brought any in the past five years. BJP leaders, including deputy president V P Duraisamy, and cadres of BJP, AIADMK, PMK, AMMK and other NDA parties, participated in the campaign.
