Biharsharif: A 25-year-old man was killed and five others injured in a clash between two groups over a trivial dispute at Punha village under Rahui police station area in Nalanda district on Friday night. The deceased was identified as Ravi Kumar, son of Anil Chaudhary.According to police, the trouble began during a community feast after a verbal spat between Anil Chaudhary and Valmiki Chaudhary alias Dhirendra Chaudhary. The argument later escalated into an attack.Ravi’s father alleged that Valmiki, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, along with 12 associates, stormed into his house armed with sticks and sharp weapons and assaulted the family members.Those injured included Ravi’s mother Gauri Devi (45), sister Kajal Kumari (17), uncle Damodar Chaudhary (55) and brother Sunny Kumar (21). Valmiki from the rival side was also injured in the clash.Police shifted the injured to Biharsharif Sadar Hospital where Ravi was declared brought dead. Sunny was later referred to VIMS, Pawapuri, after his condition turned serious.Rahui SHO Lalit Vijay said an FIR was filed against 14 named accused. Eleven persons have been arrested so far, while raids are on to nab the remaining accused. An FSL team was called to examine the spot, he added.
