Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi bid farewell to the force today after completing his tenure as the Chief of Army Staff, saying the Army draws its strength not from any one individual but from the unwavering faith of its soldiers, commanders, veterans, families, and the people of India. Reflecting on his four-decade-long military career, General Dwivedi called serving the nation through the Indian Army the greatest privilege of his life. He said the Army has maintained high levels of preparedness, vigilance, and operational effectiveness over the past two years while strengthening coordination with the Indian Navy and Indian Air Force through greater jointness and mutual trust. Handing over command to the new Army Chief, General Dhiraj Seth, General Dwivedi described him as a seasoned soldier and capable leader, expressing confidence that the Indian Army would continue to uphold its traditions of professionalism and achieve even greater milestones under his leadership.
