Bhubaneswar: Odisha govt’s Ama Sathi unified WhatsApp chatbot has expanded its service network with the integration of 14 citizen-centric services of the state police, enabling people to access several policing services digitally from their mobile phones. DGP (in-charge) Vinaytosh Mishra on Friday rolled out the police services on the Ama Sathi chatbot, which can be accessed through WhatsApp at 9437292000.The platform, launched by chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Dec 25, last year, already offered services of various state govt departments. With the latest integration, citizens can now access a range of police-related services through the 24×7 digital assistant. The services include character certificate, senior citizen registration, employee verification, lost property/document reporting, NOC for using loudspeakers, tenant verification, missing person reporting, complaint registration, employee/domestic help verification, event or performance permission, protest/strike request and supply of FIR and final-form copies in road accident, stolen vehicle and theft cases.“Citizens can initiate a service through WhatsApp, complete the registration process, provide the required details, upload supporting documents and submit applications online. The requests are then electronically processed through the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) by designated verifying and approving authorities,” DGP Mishra said.Applicants receive automated SMS notifications about the progress and final status of their requests. An integrated ‘check status’ facility also enables end-to-end tracking, allowing users to know the stage of processing, the authority handling the request and, wherever applicable, the reasons for pendency or rejection.Approved documents and licences can also be downloaded and printed digitally, wherever the facility is applicable, officials said.
