Bhubaneswar: Odisha govt on Tuesday issued a show-cause notice to KIMS Hospital over alleged large-scale irregularities in the implementation of Ayushman Bharat-Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-GJAY), directing the hospital to submit a written reply within 5 days or face disciplinary action.According to officials of health and family welfare department, the inspection found irregularities in eight key areas. These included initiation of pre-authorisation requests after patients had already been discharged, alleged “up-coding” by selecting higher-value treatment packages to claim larger reimbursements, and manipulation of clinical records and indoor case papers for package approvals.Shradhanjali Nayak, director, public relations and spokesperson of KIMS, said, “We have not received any such notice so far. Once we receive it, we will file our response regarding the allegations before the authorities.”The inspection further flagged deficiencies in the hospital’s helpdesk system, including inadequate information displays and poor awareness of scheme guidelines among staff.
