Bhubaneswar: A high-level committee constituted by the state govt to examine the long-pending grievances of teaching and non-teaching staff in primary, upper-primary, high and higher secondary schools submitted its report to chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi at a meeting. The CM said the recommendations would be examined and appropriate decisions taken.
The committee, headed by retired IAS officer Ashok Tripathy, was constituted last Dec and was given six months to examine the demands and submit its recommendations.
The panel held extensive consultations with teachers and non-teaching employees across categories, with representatives of 104 teachers’ associations meeting the committee to place their demands. It held 90 meetings and submitted 79 reports to the govt, according to information shared at Monday’s meeting.
The committee’s report examines issues relating to the service conditions and other long-standing demands of teachers and non-teaching staff.
The committee was set up amid issues relating to their service and other benefits.
