Patna: Nursing colleges across the state will undergo physical inspections to check compliance with prescribed standards, health minister Nishant Kumar said during a review meeting on Tuesday.The minister directed officials to constitute district-level committees to inspect infrastructure, teaching arrangements, human resources, essential facilities and other prescribed requirements at nursing institutions.He also stressed the appointment of qualified teachers, timely completion of the curriculum and conducting internal assessments. Institutions found lacking in prescribed standards will be given a stipulated time frame to rectify deficiencies, officials said.To strengthen monitoring, nursing colleges have been directed to install CCTV cameras and provide live-feed links to the Command and Control Centre. This will enable live monitoring of classes and academic activities.The meeting also reviewed the BNRC portal, recognition of nursing colleges, nursing workforce reforms and pending applications received through the new portal. Randomised inspection committees will be used for physical inspections to make the process more transparent and impartial.
