Mumbai, India: Novo Medi Sciences Pvt. Ltd. (Novo Group) has sparked nationwide participation with G.A.U.R.I. (Generating Awareness on Underprivileged Girls’ Right to Immunization) – a purpose-led campaign designed to turn a simple missed call into a collective public health commitment. Introduced on January 24, 2026, marking National Girl Child Day, and continuing until March 8th, 2026, International Women’s Day, this initiative has engaged citizens across India in championing one clear message: ‘every girl deserves equal access to immunization, regardless of her socio-economic background.’ Citizens from across the country expressed their support by giving a missed call – an accessible and inclusive action requiring no financial contribution. This symbolic gesture quickly evolved into a growing nationwide movement, bringing together communities across regions and demographics. Participation was monitored through a dedicated microsite gauribynovo.com, ensuring transparency and accountability. The initiative received over 10,000 missed calls. Each participant received an SMS acknowledging their contribution with a message of gratitude, transforming a simple action into measurable engagement.
Building on the strong response to its awareness campaign, Novo Medi Sciences (Novo Group) has now commenced on-ground vaccination drives under the NGCD Initiative, transitioning from awareness to meaningful action. Thousands of underprivileged girl children across India are being administered NEXIPOX PLUS®, the world’s only thermostable chickenpox vaccine, with the support of more than 500 doctors. The program is being conducted under the supervision of qualified healthcare professionals to ensure safe, ethical, and guideline-compliant administration. This year, Novo Medi Sciences (Novo Group) has committed vaccines valued at approximately ₹55,00,000, enabling free vaccinations for thousands of girls from underserved communities. Beyond vaccine delivery, healthcare teams are also engaging with families and local communities to reinforce the importance of preventive healthcare and timely immunization, an effort aimed at building healthier families and more resilient communities across India.
Commenting on the campaign’s success, Forum Bhagat, Managing Director, Novo Medi Sciences Pvt. Ltd. (Novo Group), said, “G.A.U.R.I. showcases the power of collective support in addressing public health. A simple missed call became a shared statement that every girl child deserves protection through immunization. The scale of engagement reflects a growing awareness that sustainable health impact depends on accessibility, education, and shared responsibility. For the second year running, our National Girl Child Day initiative continues to grow. What began as a vaccination drive now aims to become a movement to protect dreams and empower the next generation. We urge every citizen to join and support this cause.”
The initiative has also received continued support from CRY – Child Rights and You, which has acknowledged Novo Medi Sciences’ efforts toward improving healthcare access for underprivileged girl children for the second consecutive year. “Access to preventive healthcare remains a significant challenge for many children in underserved communities. Our collaboration with Novo Medi Sciences for a noble cause like this help extend essential protection to underprivileged girls, ensuring they are not left behind when it comes to critical health interventions like immunization,” said a CRY spokesperson.
Notably, the varicella vaccine is not part of India’s routine National Immunization Programme, despite the virus being highly contagious. Through this initiative, Novo Medi Sciences aims to bridge this critical gap while promoting awareness around preventive healthcare and timely immunization.
