NOIDA: A video of youths performing dangerous stunts on two moving cars in Greater Noida has gone viral on social media, prompting swift action from the traffic police. The 15-second clip shows one man hanging out of a car window, waving a lathi, while the driver’s door remains open. Another car can be seen speeding in a zigzag manner, with occupants filming reels.The stunt, widely circulated online, triggered public outrage, with several users calling for strict action. “Their vehicles should be seized as it is very dangerous,” wrote an X user, Sameer.Responding to the video, Noida traffic police tracked down the vehicles by scanning their registration numbers and issued challans amounting to Rs 1.21 lakh — Rs 65,500 for one vehicle and Rs 57,500 for the other. The fines were imposed under multiple sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, including Section 184 (dangerous driving), Section 189 (speeding), Section 179 (disobedience and obstruction), and Section 194B (seatbelt violation).Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Lakhan Singh Yadav said that it is not clear when the incident took place. “The matter has also been referred to the Knowledge Park police for further action, including the seizure of the vehicles involved,” he said.The DCP urged residents to follow traffic rules, stressing that such violations not only endanger the lives of the offenders but also put other road users at serious risk.Last year, the traffic police issued 27 lakh challans including 86890 for speeding, 58101 for driving without seatbelt, 32636 for tripling on bike, 1707518 for riding bikes without helmets. During the same period, 462 people died and 966 people were injured in 1156 accidents.
