Noida: Two of Noida’s busiest commercial hubs are set for a fresh commercial push.Noida Authority is offering 34 kiosks for food, retail and other businesses in Sector 18 and the area near GIP Mall in Sector 38A.“The kiosks will be allotted through e-auction for seven years, extendable by another three years,” Noida Authority OSD Indu Prakash Singh said. Nineteen kiosks will be offered near gate number 2 of GIP Mall in Sector 38A and 15 kiosks in Sector 18.The kiosks — located in high-footfall areas and supported by facilities such as seating and parking — are expected to add to the commercial activity and improve the visitor experience.Authority has issued an expression of interest for interested parties. Authority has decided to offer the kiosks to individual applicants after its earlier plan to lease all of them to a single private operator failed to attract suitable bidders.In Sector 38A, the 19 prefabricated kiosks, each measuring 10.80 sqm, have already been installed.Authority has planned the site as a themed commercial and food destination showcasing the cuisines and cultural diversity of different states.The street market, developed along DSC Road, is located on a key commercial stretch.Besides the kiosks, the project has seating areas and roadside parking for more than 100 vehicles.The location is expected to benefit from its proximity to major commercial and transit destinations.The kiosks are situated between Botanical Garden Metro station and GIP Mall, with Sector 18 market and Atta Market also nearby.Of the 19 kiosks, 11 have been earmarked for food businesses and eight for non-food businesses.In Sector 18, Authority has set up 15 kiosks, each measuring 11.34 sqm, at different locations within the market.The site also features a 22 ft x 13 ft Delta Screen, six sculptures, 65 bollards and 24 seats.Authority has proposed 12 kiosks for non-food businesses and three for food vending.The ratio can be changed during the licence period with Authority’s approval.The Sector 18 kiosks can be used for businesses such as clothing, books, art, watches and mobile-related products.The licensee may also be allowed to set up two mobile food trucks, subject to Authority’s approval.The proposed reserve price for the e-auction is Rs 532 per sq ft per month per kiosk. The licence fee payable by successful bidders will increase by 10% every year.The successful operator will also be responsible for maintaining the licensed areas, including cleanliness, waste management, common areas, landscaping and other infrastructure.
