Noida Authrities began the repair work of damaged speed breakers at Botanical Garden bus stand

Noida: The damaged speed breakers near the Botanical Garden bus stand, which became hazardous for commuters and were damaging vehicles, have finally got the attention of authorities, giving hope to commuters. On Monday afternoon, a team reached the site and began the repair work. The speed breakers are located at a busy junction where traffic from Kalindi Kunj and Mahamaya Flyover takes a left turn towards Botanical Garden metro station. It is also a major public transport hub, with hundreds of commuters boarding autos, buses and taxis. An auto driver, Suresh Kumar, said, “These speed breakers were damaged nearly six months ago. However, due to heavy traffic, the potholes became bigger, and gravel and concrete came out.”In Feb, the Noida Authority approved a Rs 250-crore plan to resurface about 150 km of the road network across the city and set April as the deadline to complete the repairs. But disruption in bitumen supply linked to the conflict in West Asia delayed the work. With ease in the situation and secure supplies, the work began on Monday.A Noida Authority official told TOI, “We have barricaded a section of the road as the repair work will take some time. Following this, a layer of bitumen will be laid over the repaired sections to complete the restoration and ensure a smooth surface for traffic.” The officials also added that they will soon repair the remaining stretches.
