Noida: Noida Authority CEO Krishna Karunesh on Monday inspected several sectors and ordered action against sanitation staff and contractors over poor civic upkeep. Six sanitation workers were removed, while the salaries of some staff were withheld.The inspection covered sanitation, drains, roads, civic maintenance and encroachments. A heap of rubbish was found near E-9 in Sector 8 during the checks. Sanitation workers Rahul and Soni, and health supervisor Shriprakash Mishra, responsible for the area, were removed for poor sanitation work.In Sector 57, rubbish was found near house number C-4 and debris between C-60 and C-63, following which sanitation worker Azad was removed. The salary of junior engineer Harendra Malik was also withheld for 10 days.In Sector 63, rubbish, dry leaves and branches were found on the central verge and internal roads, while a drain was clogged with waste. Sanitation worker Dharmveer and supervisor Akash were removed from duty. A warning was issued to the manager concerned, and the contractor was served a notice warning they would be blacklisted if work was not carried out properly. Door-to-door rubbish collection work was also found unsatisfactory. The CEO directed officials to impose a penalty of Rs 5 lakh on the agency responsible for the work, M/s AG Enviro Infra Project Pvt Ltd.Officials also found damaged drains at several locations and were instructed to carry out repairs.In Sector 11 near the H-block market, directions were issued to install precast slabs over drains. In Sector 55, rubbish was found lying in the open, and immediate cleaning was ordered. In Sector 62, leaves and horticulture waste were found on the road, and officials were directed to clear them. A service road in the area was also found closed and dirty, and officials were instructed to clean it regularly and reopen it for public movement.Near Hanuman temple in Baraula village, huts had been constructed on Authority land. Officials were directed to remove the encroachment.The CEO also directed officials to conduct a survey of all Banquet Halls in Noida and undertake renovation where required.
