Noida: An IndiGo flight from Noida International Airport to Lucknow was delayed by nearly four hours on Thursday after the aircraft developed a technical snag, leaving passengers stranded. Flight 6E 7628 was scheduled to depart at 3.05 pm but could not take off after the fault was detected. The airline subsequently arranged a replacement aircraft, which departed with the passengers at 6.50 pm, nearly four hours behind schedule. Separately, IndiGo has planned to start flights from Noida to Udaipur from Oct 25.A video of the incident was also circulated on social media, showing passengers confronting IndiGo staff at the airport. Passengers alleged that they were not adequately informed about the technical problem and were made to wait inside the aircraft for hours before being shifted to another aircraft. Several passengers even disembarked and sat on the floor inside the airport premises while they waited.An IndiGo official confirmed that the flight was delayed due to a technical snag and said a replacement aircraft was arranged later. “The passengers were also given options available to them, including cancelling the flight and claiming a refund,” the official said.The airline, meanwhile, announced the launch of daily, nonstop flights from Noida International Airport to Udaipur starting Oct 25. The new route will further strengthen connectivity while offering customers more convenient travel options.IndiGo will launch nonstop flights from Noida airport to Udaipur from Oct 25. Flight 6E 7631 will depart from Noida at 1.30 pm and land in Udaipur at 3.10 pm The return flight – Udaipur-Noida flight 6E 7632 – will take off from Udaipur at 6.20 pm and land at Noida at 8 pm.Flyers can plan and book trips via IndiGo’s official website, the mobile application or authorised travel partners.Noida International Airport at Jewar began commercial passenger operations on June 15, 2026, with IndiGo operating the first passenger flight from Lucknow. Cargo operations commenced two days later, on June 17.IndiGo was the first airline to commence operations at the airport, with the first flight arriving at NIA from Lucknow on the morning of June 15, while the first departure was to Bengaluru shortly after.IndiGo currently connects Noida to 15 cities – Lucknow, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Amritsar, Jammu, Bareilly, Bhopal, Dharamshala, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kishangarh (Ajmer), Navi Mumbai, Pantnagar and Srinagar.
