Noida: Traffic police have barred all heavy, medium and light goods vehicles from entering the city from Thursday night until Aug 11 to manage traffic during the kanwar yatra.DCP (traffic) Abhay Kumar Mishra said goods carrier vehicles headed to Ghaziabad, Hapur, Bulandshahar, Muradnagar via Chilla intersection will have to take Noida Expressway and Eastern Peripheral Expressway.Freight vehicles currently take the Sector 62 stretch to reach Ghaziabad. During the yatra, cops said, all goods vehicles will be barred from entering the city.Goods vehicles headed from Delhi-Badarpur border via Okhla Barrage will also have to take the expressways to reach Ghaziabad and other west UP districts.Vehicles travelling from Chilla or DND Flyover via the Maharaja Agrasen Marg elevated road to Ghaziabad and beyond will also be diverted via the two expressways, Mishra said.“All goods vehicles going from Aligarh, Bulandshahar, Sikandrabad via Dadri NH-91 towards Ghaziabad and Delhi will be able to reach their destination by using the EPE. Vehicles heading from Sikandrabad, Kasna via Pari Chowk towards Delhi through Noida Expressway will also be diverted via EPE from Sirsa roundabout,” the DCP said.Goods carrier vehicles travelling towards Ghaziabad via Model Town, Chhijarsi and Taj Highway will also have to take EPE. “Movement of heavy vehicles between Chilla and Okhla Barrage will be completely prohibited,” the DCP said.In Noida, devotees typically move through routes connecting Mayur Vihar, Sector 14 Shani Mandir, Okhla Bird Sanctuary and Kalindi Kunj.
