Chandigarh: The MC has issued a stern advisory to all officials, directing them to strictly adhere to rules while processing official cases and cautioning against any attempt to influence administrative decisions through political intervention, pressure groups or demonstrations.In an office order, MC commissioner Amit Kumar said cases of certain persons influencing examination of cases by presenting selective facts or discouraging incorporation of complete factual and legal background had come to light. The order also referred to pressure tactics, including threats of agitation and dharnas.The commissioner directed that all official cases be processed strictly on the basis of complete facts, applicable rules, policy instructions and relevant judicial pronouncements. Officials have been instructed not to suppress, omit or withhold any material information while processing files. Officials have been asked not to entertain any external influence, pressure or interference in official functioning. Any attempt at intimidation, coercion or undue influence must be immediately reported to higher authorities.
