Kolkata, West Bengal: Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar says, “The process of SIR revision of about 60 crore voters in 12 states of India and earlier in Bihar is almost complete. The sole objective was that no eligible voter should be left out, but along with that, no ineligible person should be included in the voter list… Recently, the final electoral roll of West Bengal, which was released, has a total of 7 crore 8 lakh names, and if those under adjudication are removed, then the names of 6,44,52,609 voters are listed as eligible voters in that list… I want to inform all the voters that there will be 100% webcasting in every polling station, which will be closely monitored by the Election Commission personnel… To increase the participation of youth, there will be dedicated assistant electoral registration officers in every assembly constituency who will campaign in colleges…”
