Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Thursday wrapped up his Samriddhi Yatra by launching development projects worth Rs 1,866 crore for Patna and Nalanda districts at separate functions held in the two districts.For Patna district, the CM inaugurated 761 completed schemes worth Rs 473 crore and laid the foundation stones for 612 schemes worth Rs 583 crore, taking the total to 1,373 schemes worth Rs 1,056 crore. The projects were launched through remote control from Gyan Bhavan on the campus of Ashoka Convention Centre here. He also addressed a meeting on the same campus as part of his ‘jan samvad’ programme.Similarly, for Nalanda district, the CM launched 216 schemes worth Rs 810 crore through remote control from a function held at the Biharsharif Municipal Corporation stadium ground. The completed schemes included 110 projects worth Rs 316 crore, while the foundation stones were laid for 106 schemes worth Rs 494 crore. He also addressed a public meeting there.Prior to launching the schemes and addressing the two public meetings, the CM reviewed the implementation of projects announced during his Pragati Yatra, as well as those taken up under the Saat Nishchay (SN)-2 and SN-3 programmes in the two districts.He carried out spot inspections of road and bridge works in Patna district, including the stretch near the AIIMS roundabout towards Janipur and Painapur, as well as the ongoing work near the AIIMS roundabout and the Bihta-Sarmera road. At Biharsharif, the CM inaugurated a 1,620-foot-long flyover constructed on the Biharsharif-Ranchi road at a cost of Rs 84 crore.He also inspected under-construction works related to flood control, anti-erosion measures, restoration of zamindari bandh, dredging of silt from the Panchane river and riverfront development along the Panchane river at Kosuk village in Nalanda district. The CM also sought detailed information on the status of eco-tourism facilities at Rajgir in Nalanda district, particularly Jayaprakash Udyan, Venuvan Park, Ghora Katora and Dinosaur Park.He asked officials concerned to expedite the works undertaken for execution so that they are completed within the stipulated timeframe without compromising quality. He also made special mention of projects announced during his Pragati Yatra and those taken up under the SN-3 and SN-2 programmes.At the Gyan Bhavan function in Patna, the CM handed over a cheque for Rs 519 crore as bank loans for 2.06 lakh self-help groups (SHGs). At the Biharsharif ground, a cheque worth Rs 393 crore was handed over for 17,811 SHGs. He also visited stalls set up at the two venues where various departments and Jeevika Didis associated with SHGs displayed their products.In his two ‘jan samvad’ addresses, the CM highlighted the development works and new initiatives undertaken during his four tenures — 2005-10, 2010-15, 2015-20 and 2020-25 — and referred to the ambitious programmes to be implemented under SN-3 during the 2025-30 period.Referring to the SN-3 programme, he said the objective is to bring Bihar into the group of developed states, for which the Centre has also been extending support by making provisions in the Union Budget.
