Rourkela: National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, has signed an MoU with Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) to collaborate on capacity building, technical upskilling and managerial development of OMC’s workforce. The agreement, signed on Feb 12, also covers joint research, innovation, digitisation and operational optimisation in the mining sector.Himanshu Bhushan Sahu, dean (alumni, industry & international relations), said the partnership would strengthen OMC’s technical capabilities, promote sustainable mining practices and introduce advanced digital tools. According to NIT-R, the collaboration includes AI-based mining solutions, mine automation, leadership programmes and joint certification courses.
