Margao: Chief minister Pramod Sawant will felicitate the winners of the CM–Vashistha Guru Puraskar at the 65th Teachers’ Day celebration function on Saturday at the Institute Menezes Braganza Hall, Panaji.Nine teachers from across the state have been selected for the award this year.In the secondary teacher category, the awardees are Eshwar Parab, primary school teacher at govt primary school, Surla, Bicholim, Arati Kolambkar, primary school teacher at government primary school, Chaudi, Canacona, Nitin Naik, physical education teacher at Shivajiraje High School, Sal, Bicholim, Devendra Sathe of Dattaram Mantravadi Memorial High School, Mapusa, Prashant Tari, special educator at Gujarati Samaj Educational Trust for the Handicapped Special School, Margao and Gourish Vernekar, drawing teacher at Shree Katyayani Baneshwar High School, Canacona.In the high school headmaster category, the award has been conferred on Narendra Naik of govt high school, Hankhane, Pernem, and Mable D’Costa, headmistress of Mae Dos Pobres High School, Nuvem.In the higher secondary principal category, the award has been declared for Umesh Naik, principal of Shantadurga Higher Secondary School, Pirna, Bardez.
