MANGALURU: Six persons, including a five-year-old boy, sustained injuries in an accident involving a motorcycle and an autorickshaw in the Puttur Traffic Police Station limits on Sunday.In his complaint, Mohammad Suhail, 26, a resident of Kolnadu village, stated that the incident occurred near Urlandi in Puttur Kasaba village. The motorcyclist, identified as Shivashankar, was riding on the Mani–Mysuru National Highway when he allegedly attempted to overtake a car in a negligent and reckless manner. While doing so, he moved to the extreme right side of the road and collided head-on with the autorickshaw driven by Suhail.The rickshaw was heading towards Salethoor, carrying four passengers: Ismail, Ibrahim, Mohammad Shameer, and five-year-old Mohammad Tamim. The impact caused the rickshaw to overturn, resulting in injuries to the driver and all passengers, including the child. The injured were admitted to a hospital in Puttur for treatment. The motorcyclist was also reportedly injured and hospitalised. A case was registered at the Puttur Traffic Police Station.3 Injured in SUV-Bike AccidentThree members of a family sustained injuries in a road accident involving an SUV and a KSRTC bus near Abhaya Hospital in Kasaba village, Beltangady, on Sunday.In his complaint, Abdul Hameed, 48, a resident of Maninalkuru, stated that the mishap occurred while he was returning from a wedding in Guruvayanakere along with his wife, daughter, and son. Hameed was driving towards Guruvayanakere when a KSRTC bus approaching from the opposite direction allegedly attempted to overtake another vehicle recklessly and moved towards the extreme right side of the road.The bus collided with the front-right side of Hameed’s SUV, resulting in injuries to him and his three family members. All of them were admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Beltangady Traffic Police registered a case.
