COIMBATORE: The Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR) will operate a summer special train service between Mettupalayam and Udhagamandalam (Ooty) from March 27 to July 5, to cater to the tourist rush. The special train from Mettupalayam will run every Friday and Sunday. The train will depart from Mettupalayam at 9.10am and reach Udhagamandalam at 2.25pm. The train from Udhagamandalam to Mettupalayam will run every Saturday and Monday. It will depart from Udhagamandalam at 4.20pm and arrive in Mettupalayam at 11.25pm. The service will be operated on a reservation-only basis, and passengers are advised to book tickets in advance.
