Hyderabad: A Nigerian national allegedly involved in drug peddling was arrested in Hyderabad on Friday after excise officials seized cocaine from her possession. The district task force of the excise department acted on specific inputs about the woman arriving from Mumbai to sell drugs in the city. Officials kept a watch and intercepted her near Paradise soon after she arrived. According to officials, the woman had reached the area in an autorickshaw and was waiting to deliver the consignment to an unidentified person. On checking her belongings, officers found five packets containing a total of 7.5 grams of cocaine. The substance was confirmed to be cocaine, following which she was taken into custody. Investigators are now probing the source of the drug and her network.Preliminary inquiry revealed that she had procured the cocaine in Mumbai for ₹15,000 and planned to sell it in Hyderabad at a higher price. A case has been registered against her under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway.
