Kanpur: A 25-year-old man allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself at his home in Jugramau under Friends Colony police station limits on Monday morning, just 19 days after his wedding. Hours later, his wife allegedly consumed sleeping pills and attempted suicide by hanging herself.She was admitted to the district hospital, where she also created a ruckus during treatment. Police have sent the man’s body for postmortem and started an investigation.The deceased, Ankit Kushwaha, had got married on July 7. According to family members, Ankit had seen his wife with a young man in the market on Sunday afternoon, following which a high-voltage drama unfolded on the road.It is alleged that Ankit accused his wife of trying to run away with the young man. The couple argued over the issue, and the atmosphere at home remained tense.Police said all aspects of the case were being investigated. Further necessary action will be taken on the basis of the postmortem report and the statements of family members.
