Jhajjar: In a major step towards strengthening policing at the grassroots level, new buildings of Dujana and Machhrauli police stations have been inaugurated in the Jhajjar district. Commissioner of police (CP) Rajshree Singh, while inaugurating the modern facilities, said the improved infrastructure would not only enhance operational efficiency but also create a more accessible and citizen-friendly policing environment.The programme began at Dujana police station, where the commissioner was welcomed by local residents and dignitaries. A tree plantation drive was also carried out, highlighting the message of environmental responsibility. The newly constructed police station on Beri Road will cater to 22 villages.The CP later visited Machhrauli police station, which will cover 23 villages and is expected to significantly improve policing outreach and response time in the area.After inaugurating the facilities, the commissioner inspected both stations and directed officials to ensure transparent, efficient and citizen-centric functioning. The stations are equipped with improved amenities, including proper accommodation for staff and better arrangements for complainants, ensuring a more comfortable and accessible interface for the public. Emphasising community participation, CP Singh urged villagers to actively cooperate with the police. “There are instances where crimes cannot be tackled by police alone. Effective action becomes possible only when the community extends support. Public cooperation is crucial for maintaining law and order,” she said.Raising concern over rising crimes involving minors, she said the department plans to launch an awareness campaign after the ongoing examination period. She highlighted the growing misuse of mobile phones and social media platforms among children. “Parents often monitor WhatsApp usage, but platforms like Instagram remain unchecked.
