Netflix is using AI to create scenes for its shows and the company might consider increasing its input to get the work done faster.

Netflix has used AI to make a scene in one of its recent shows

AI is everywhere and now even your Netflix shows will have the technology in a big way. The streaming platform has started using AI to create some parts of its shows and this has helped the company cut its overall production costs.

Using AI tools has become the go-to trend and Netflix is obviously going to reap benefits of using the technology, which is claimed to be offering them content 10 times faster than people using traditional VFX tools would have spent making them.

Netflix Goes AI, More Job Losses Coming?

The company shared the details about using AI for a scene but you can see the picture, where AI is going to become a more intensive part of its development process. Ted Sarandos co-CEO at Netflix, talking at the earnings call earlier this month, said he can see AI helping the creative team make films and series better, and yes, cheaper than what they are investing in making them till date.

He then explains the need to use AI and how it could have a big impact on the entertainment industry in the next few years.

The good news is that Sarandos doesn’t sound the bugle with the AI integration and the inevitable job cuts might have been shelved for now.

Netflix is reportedly testing a new AI-powered feature for its platform. As per several reports, the streaming giant has begun testing a search engine for subscribers that will replace the existing search function on the app. Reports say Netflix will rely on OpenAI to power the AI search feature that allows users to search for content using more specific terms.

The search tool will reportedly let users find shows and movies using far more specific terms than just name, genre and actors. Customers can look for shows using their mood, and the streaming platform will then recommend options from its catalogue.

The feature is currently said to be available to select Netflix subscribers in Australia and New Zealand, and the company might expand it to more regions in the coming months.
