Nagpur: With 12,512 students from Nagpur district set to appear for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) re-exam on June 21, the district administration has roped in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) for security arrangements at exam centres.According to the administration, 14 centres will be secured jointly by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and local police personnel, while another 16 centres will be guarded by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) along with the police. District collector Kumar Ashirwad on Thursday reviewed preparations aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of the examination across the city. At a meeting held at Niyojan Bhavan, the collector took stock of arrangements related to security, infrastructure, and student convenience at examination centres. Security arrangements have also been strengthened at all examination centres. Ashirwad directed centre heads and management of institutions hosting the examination to ensure all essential facilities are in place before exam day. These include adequate lighting, proper seating arrangements, uninterrupted power supply through generator backup, availability of drinking water, and necessary security measures for candidates. Officials discussed logistical preparedness and coordination among various agencies involved in conducting the examination. Special emphasis will be placed on ensuring that students do not face any inconvenience while appearing for the test, officials said. The district administration has sought close coordination between security agencies and examination authorities to maintain order and ensure the examination is conducted without any disruptions. The review meeting was attended by city coordinator and principal Arvind Singh Thakur, principal Firoz Khan, senior officials from the CRPF and CISF, and heads of examination centres. With NEET remaining under the spotlight following the recent paper leak controversy and allegations of examination irregularities, authorities have tightened security and monitoring measures for the June 21 test. The administration is focusing on both robust security arrangements and essential student facilities to ensure the examination is conducted smoothly and without disruption. Officials said all arrangements are being finalised ahead of the June 21 examination, with departments instructed to remain on alert and address any issues promptly.
