Faridabad: An 18-year-old NEET aspirant allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the 16th floor of her building in Greater Faridabad’s Sector 88 on Thursday, a day after she checked her probable score using the online answer key.Police said the incident took place around noon at SRS Residency, where the student lived with her family. According to her relatives, she had recently appeared for NEET and had been under considerable stress after estimating her score. While she had expected a significantly higher result, she calculated that she might score around 600 out of 720 after comparing her responses with the answer key.Family members told police that the disappointment had left her distressed in recent days. On Thursday, she allegedly left her flat, took the lift to the top floor and jumped.Police reached the spot after receiving information and sent the body for an autopsy.The family, originally from Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, has been living in the housing society for several years. At the time of the incident, her mother was in Vijayawada and the student was alone at home. Her father, Kateshwar, a senior executive with a private company, told police that she was the elder of his two daughters and had always excelled academically, scoring well in Class 12.Police said they had initiated an investigation to examine all aspects of the case.
